Feng Mao Lamb Kebab is based in Koreatown LA with two locations: Western Ave and Olympic Blvd. We specialize in Chinese-Korean kebab barbecue.
Feng Mao Lamb Kebab was started by an immigrant couple from North Eastern Mainland China in 2009. As immigrants with nothing much more but the clothes on their backs, the Jins pursued the American Dream by opening up their first location on Olympic Boulevard.
While the majority of restaurateurs were opening up Korean BBQ restaurants, the Jins stuck true to their identities. Since then Feng Mao Lamb Kebab has been praised by Jonathan Gold, the LA Times, Eater LA, LA Weekly, and many more.

"Great experience! This was my boyfriend and I's first time at a restaurant where you grill kebabs.
The outdoor seating was spacious and well lit with fairy lights. They also have heaters at night. Because it is outdoor they bring the kebabs out precooked and a mini charcoal grill for you to heat up the kebabs as you eat. The meat was cooked a perfect medium so it was still tender. I really liked the beef and fish ball kebabs. My boyfriend enjoyed the lamb ribs and pork belly kebabs. The squid kebabs were a little bland, but I liked the chili sauce it's paired with.
The star was definitely the pan fried buns with pork and vegetables. The bun is so soft, fluffy, and moist with a slight crunch at the bottom. The filling is flavorful as well and it comes with a garlicky soy sauce to dip it in. Overall we loved it! The service was great and the free steamed egg was delicious. It was perfect for a cold night and a unique place to go on a date."

"They have combos available. I highly recommend the mara lamb skewers and beef option. Normally you cook it yourself on an open flame, but BC of covid they cook it to perfection for you to take to go. They're on the smaller side and the powdered dip they give you is delicious and is more than enough for two orders of the mara lamb and beef combo.
I really like the clams, they have a little tingly side effect. The dumplings are also nicely filled with really good dough. I can pass on The green onion pancake, it tasted regular. Not bad but not extremely spectacular where i must have it next time. Otherwise, food is really delicious here!""

"Feng Mao is one of my wife's favorite restaurants. It's a unique style of Chinese cuisine that is a fusion of Chinese and Korean culture. Their lamb skewers are amazing and their sweet and sour pork is one of my favorite dishes. Covid sucks and they are cooking the skewers for you, but normally, there is a charcoal grill at your table that cooks the meat to crispy, juicy perfection."
